Making conservation resonate across global audiences

Client: Wetlands International
Location: Lamu, Kenya

Context

Wetlands International leads efforts to restore mangroves worldwide, including in Lamu, Kenya. These ecosystems are vital for climate resilience, biodiversity, and local livelihoods.

Challenge

Mangrove restoration is critical, but difficult to communicate in a way that truly resonates. The challenge was not just to inform, but to connect, and to move beyond technical narratives to reach people’s hearts.

Approach

The Good Picture developed a series of videos built around a simple idea: every powerful story needs a universal angle.

Instead of focusing only on conservation, we crafted a narrative about something deeper: our ability to confront our own mistakes, to change, and to rebuild.
Beyond ecosystems, mangroves became a symbol of renewal.

Impact

  • Stronger emotional connection with audiences

  • A more human and relatable narrative on conservation

  • Content that speaks beyond the sector, to universal human experience
